Food & Nutrition
Besides a healthy glass or two of one of the red wines listed on this site, you should, according to Roger Corder, try and moderate your diet to include a good balance of vitamins (fruit and veg), proteins, carbohydrates and fats. Mono-unsaturated fats, such as olive oil, are of course preferred over saturated fats, however avoid at all costs hydrogenated (trans) fats.
For those who cannot or do not want to consume red wine, regardless of the price or quality, Roger Corder recommends regular consumption of the following for providing sometimes equivalent levels of procyanidins proven to protect the heart from atherosclerosis (and hence heart disease) :
Apples
Walnuts
Raspberries
Cranberry juice (>25%)
Concord grape juice
Cinnamon
Pomegranate juice
Good quality dark chocolate
