Cabernet Sauvignon
Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the most widely seen varieties both in France and across the world. Its French home is the famous wine lands of the Médoc and Graves in Bordeaux, where it is generally blended with other varieties such as Merlot and Cabernet Franc. It is very reliable for ageing and tends to produce wines with hints of blackcurrent, green pepper and sometimes even mint. It is heavier on tannins and healthier for the heart than its softer Bordeaux counterpart, the Merlot.
Health Benefits
Very good health benefits similar to Nebbiolo, due to its rich content of procyanidins, however inferior to those of the Tannat grape. The health benefits are higher when the wine is made from low-yielding vines with long fermentation and maceration times.
