Pinot Noir

Pinot noir grapes are grown around the world, but the grape is chiefly associated with the Burgundy (Bourgogne) region of France. It is also responsible for some of the enjoyable reds and rosés found in the Loire Valley of France. Pinot Noir red wines tend to have overtones of raspberry and cherry fruit backed up by gentle tannins.

With respect to the healthy wines this site promotes, the Pinot Noir grape is not present as a key variety, as it is not particularly high in heart-friendly polyphenols. It can however be found in some of the blended wine varieties found on the Blends page.
